Yes i know they should be fix with the plastic pin's.
What i am saying is that you can get to the nuts with just the bottom un-clipped.
Might help somebody in the future doing this job.

My car was on the ramp for mot yesterday.
I had a look and i do have the plastics but they are not fixed along the bottom.
You must be able to get your hand in there with it like that as they where never taken off when the steel/ally ? plate was removed.

Let us know if the other niggle's start to work after the new battery.
The car could have been telling you in it's own way it wanted a new battery for a long time but you didn't know.

It's getting to the new battery time of year.
Many years ago my daughter turned up at my door saying her car had broken down.
She had left home and stopped at the parer shop got back in her car and nothing.
Turned out to be the battery totally dead when i went down to it put a new one on and never a problem in the next 5 years she had that car.

Auto or manual.
If auto have you tried putting it in N.
What is the battery voltage getting cold at night now so older batteries will start to fail.

If you haven't done so already, I would get the transfer case adaptions reset, especially if the noise is more obvious when turning. This can be done using DIS or INPA.
And Foxwell nt510.

Got me thinking now i don't think i have the side plastic covers on mine.
Don't have the very front under tray the plastic one so it's possible the side ones are missing and i don't remember seeing them when my m8 took the metal tray off.

I would go with the winter fuel as well.
The cold will make a difference as well but all will have the winter diesel soon i would think.
