Don't think it would stop the car from starting glow-plug controller that is.
Not sure what the problem is but i am sure you will get the answer shortly.

It can be a bad/dirty connection on the plug as well as a failed sensor.

Did you use a relay with power direct from the battery (or even the jump point).
That would be the way i would go with just the switch from the headlight.

There should be a small tab you press on and pull at the same time.

General X5 Forum (E53) / Door mec jammed can't open at all FIX
« on: August 03, 2018, 06:05:34 PM »
Just sorted out mt driver door after it jammed.
Went to get out earlier today and the inside handle stuck out after opening the door.
Went to shut it and it didn't shut first time but did the second go.
Never thought anything about it until i went to get back in later on and no way opened the windows from the fob but still no joy from inside.
Well to cut a long one short here is a link that got me back in and all greased up and working again.
Just in case somebody has this problem and does a search.
Link that helped me no end.

I used a dremel with a thin diamond disc to cut my key open.
Don't cut too deep as you could damage the board inside.
Easy job with a soldering iron to change the battery plenty for sale on the bay.
Epoxy resin to put it back together.

Nice one.

I think the valve body can be a problem letting air out so you could be on a winner with that new one.

The lounge / Re: Speed limit to be cut to 20mph in central London
« on: August 02, 2018, 08:07:36 AM »
As x5sport says nobody takes any notice of the 20mph zones.
I live on one as we have a school just down the road.
We have the speed humps as well but some of the idiots i think they are trying to get air over them.
