I bought this car for my wife but since then we have had a baby and now its gets very little use as she uses my X5. We are selling it to get her something a bit bigger and i am offering it here for the trade in price we have been offered at MINI (but if it sells here we will not be tied to buying from a dealer)

It is currently on a private plate which will be removed when it sells and it will go back on its original reg (YR16HFJ). There is outstanding finance which will be settled as soon as the car sells

I may be tempted to take a px  (i shouldn't , but i might 8))

Will upload more photos over the weekend

How-To / Flappy paddles on 2011 lci
« on: December 31, 2017, 02:45:10 AM »
Its probably been answered on here many times but i cannot seem to get a yes or no from google searches

My 2011 40d m sport had the steering wheel swapped by the previous owner to a flappy paddles version. However, that was as far as he got. What is involved in getting the paddles working

On one of my previous land rovers it was a case of swapping the wheel and spiral cassette and that was it!
will this be the same or much more involved

Thanks in advance

How-To / Satnav day/night mode??
« on: November 15, 2017, 08:52:54 PM »
I recently drove my new X5 at night for the first time and found the satnav very bright. After a bit of fiddling i found the settings with night mode
I selected night mode and it was much better in the dark but it is now in the darker "night" setting all the time day or night.

Is there a setting hidden somewhere to have the day/night mode automatic when the lights are on (like my landrover did) or is it a case of manually selecting day or night mode

Buy and sell / Free- X5 e70 Msport Mudflaps
« on: November 10, 2017, 09:32:12 AM »
I have recently removed a set of 4 mudflaps from my X5. No fittings but these should be easy to get

I will happily swap them for the 2 rear wheel arch extensions that have to be removed to fit the mudflaps (number 6 in the photo both sides)

General X5 Forum (E70) / Headlamp question???
« on: November 03, 2017, 11:18:56 PM »
pulled onto the drive tonight with high beam on and noticed that only my outer headlights were lit. Flashed the high beam on and off but still only the outer lamps working???

The lower fog lamps act as cornering lamps so when do the inner lamps work if at all? I assumed they would be high beam like my range rover/discovery was

Problems / 2011 40d starting issue-First problem
« on: November 02, 2017, 06:23:53 PM »
Hi, after a brief honeymoon period with my new x5 (bought on saturday ::)) i have my first problem.
Started the car from cold this morning and it fired straight up (sounded fine) ran for a couple of seconds and stopped, started again and did the same. then started blipped the throttle and it kept running but was lumpy. This cleared after about 25-30 seconds and it ran fine after that. Tonight another cold start and it did the same (albeit only once).
All seems well when it get a bit of heat in it but doesnt seem to like cold starts

Has anyone had a similar problem that can shed any light on it?
Thanks in advance

Newbies section / Hello everyone from Sheffield
« on: October 25, 2017, 09:41:44 PM »
Hi everyone, i am Paul and on saturday i am going to look at a 2011 X5 40d. I have owned just about every make of car and 4x4 made but never an x5. I am a landrover man at heart but have become a bit disappointed with their latest offerings and customer relations. I have just sold my discovery4 so the X5 will be a different beast altogether

Is there anything special to look out for on the x5?

its a 2011 40d
FSH with 80000+miles
comfort seats???
360 camera
front bumper cameras
speed limit info??
high beam assist
adaptive headlights

Not sure what else its got. Hope its a nice one as i am quite looking forward to trying something new
