The VW vans will be too big for me.
So looks like narrowing down to an X5 or 2 Series. Just wondering if I should go for diesel or petrol

General X5 Forum (E53) / Which power steering fluid
« on: December 10, 2017, 02:21:47 PM »

Just wondering which power Steering fluid I can buy for my 3.0d.

I can't seem to able to identify one in Halfords or ECP

Final question is where the fit mark is? there is no mention of it in the hand book

Good options guys.

I was not aware that the 2 series back seats was as spacious as the E70?

A colleague at work has a 2012 Kia Sorento which I saw him climb into the back seat ...

I have had my 2005 (E53) for 9.5 good years and very reluctant to part with it.

With 3 kids in the family, a teenager and 2 still using car seats, the back is getting cramped. There is also the occational movements with the parents which results in having to travel in two cars rather than one. I am partially  on a lookout for a spacious 7 seater to replace my E53. I don't want too spend much as all our financial focus at the moment is on buying  another property.

I would like a 7 seater where the last 2 seats can comfortably seat a teenager or 4yr old with a car seat.

I was considering the E70 but not sure how comfy the last 2 seats are. I also noticed that when the 2 seats are up , there is literally to more boot space left.

Two other cars that spring to mind bigger than the E70 are The Audi Q7 and Discovery 3 both having some boot space left. These 2 do seem to carry a heavy road tax cost in comparison to the X5!

I would be looking for something around 2008-2010 .... year

Please I could do with some insight into those cars or any you can think of that I have not considered.

have you got a link to the camera you are using?.
I am interested in getting one as well

Hi Guys,

My dash is now showing that its time for an Inspection (1 or 2) on my 160K miles  5.0d  and I brake fluid change.

I have always used the main dealers since I bought 9yrs ago except for brake discs & pads  I change myself.

Since car is now so old (and still loved). Do i need to still go back to the dealers for the Inspection & break fluid change or head down to the indy's for a lesser cost?

Is this a mod for the diesel Engine?

So this is attached purely to the exhaust  flap covers?

Also, is there anything fancy and new to connect an ipod to the standard head unit or is the only option an intravee 2 (I previously had one and it was great)?

With that in mind, is anyone selling an intravee 2? (I know I've just missed out on one on here.

I have the intravee 2 and the alpine KCA thingy as well. I have been meaning to sell it since I no longer use it....

That reminded me of when I bought my X5 and put in in reverse to see the side mirror dip down.

I quickly got out of the car rushing to the other side to catch the mirror.

General X5 Forum (E53) / Re: Rear Bike rack for E53?
« on: July 24, 2016, 04:46:54 PM »
I got a rack from micksgarage.com that hangs off the back window/tailgate with tensioner straps etc - works perfectly fine. I put two bikes on it, I believe it holds four. Doesn't obscure the number plate

any chance to a link for the exact one you bought?

Hi I might have an E53 BMW bike rack for sale shortly like this one which require mounts to be fitted to roof bars but my one carries two bikes. I believe you may still be able to get the 3rd bike holder from BMW.

Same one in the pics?. how much for and when?
