« on: May 31, 2018, 09:22:54 AM »
Genuine BMW lightning cable to allow control of an iPhone and display track info etc.

For use with both CCC and CIC systems. Not sure what the NBT connection is so I don’t know if it will work with it too.

£30, no offers.

Buy and sell / Wanted- LCi 30d or 40d
« on: May 29, 2018, 08:58:30 PM »
Another E70 wanted thread I’m afraid!

I’m after a 30d ideally, but would consider a 40d. SE or M Sport. Must have pro Nav, sport seats and under 65k. No exceptions on any of these!

Must have a full history.

Not interested in a pre LCi.

General X5 Forum (E70) / Reversing Camera Retrofit
« on: April 22, 2018, 11:33:54 PM »
Has anyone ever retrofitted an oem reversing camera to an LCi E70? There’s not a massive amount of info on it on Google, but a couple of places suggest it is possible if the car has CIC and rear PDC.

Kufatec do a wiring loom for it, but strangely no full kit.

Is it just a case of getting said loom, plus a module and camera off eBay? Or is there more to it?

General X5 Forum (E70) / Service History Advice
« on: April 15, 2018, 02:18:11 PM »
Folks, I’m in talk with a non franchise dealer about a 2012 30d I have seen for sale. There are a few things niggling at me, but it’s such good value I’m tempted to go for it anyway. I just thought I would get the opinions of owners here.

It’s had 4 owners, which usually puts me off but I usually only keep my cars for a year or so, so it could just have had people own it of a similar mindeset to myself.

It’s had 4 stamps at bmw, including 2 oil services at 16k and 29k, the 29k was in April 16, so pretty much right for the 2 year/20k intervals. However the next oil service was done at 52k in Sept 17 at a non franchise chain of dealers. That’s 23k between 2 services, in 17 months. What are people’s opinions on that? My thought processes is that the engine got off to a good start on life at BMW, so really 23k should be ok. I’d get my bmw specialist to change it as soon as I get it anyway. Would it really affect the longevity of the engine, or even resale?

That car is such a good spec and price, hence my quandary!

General X5 Forum (E70) / Anyone With Media Package?
« on: March 28, 2018, 08:46:17 AM »
Folks I am in the market for a 2010-12 LCi 30d. One of the options I cant do without is DAB. I have found the brochure online for the 2012 model and the Media Package includes DAB, but does anyone on here have a 2010 or 2011 car with Media Package and can confirm if DAB was included in the early days too?

If not, would anyone even have a copy of the brochure for the 2010/11 car?

There is something in my head that is telling me that DAB was only added to the package later. I may be wrong though!

Buy and sell / 2008 335i Convertible Inc BMW Warranty
« on: March 27, 2018, 07:53:43 AM »
Thought I would stick this up on here in case anyone was looking for a toy for the summer...

For sale is my 2008 335i M Sport. This is a truly fantastic example of the E93 shape, it has covered just 50k miles and has a full BMW service history to back it up (brake service carried out at BMW on 26/3/18). I purchased a BMW Warranty for it and there are approximately 7 months remaining. The original owner had the car up until 2016. The car has an incredible spec with the following extras; adaptive cornering xenon lights, professional navigation and idrive, DAB, Bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry and start, heated seats, electric memory seats, BMW Loudspeaker sound system etc. The interior and exterior are both in perfect condition. There were Michelin Pilot Sport tyres fitted to the rear a couple of weeks ago so these still have 7/8mm tread remaining. There are also Michelin tyres on the front with roughly 6mm left. This is possibly the best example of an E93 335i you will find, especially with the reassurance of a full BMW Warranty. It has been used as a 3rd in our family but is sadly no longer required. The car currently has a private reg which will be removed prior to sale. Any questions, please ask.

£11695 Ono

The car is located in Northern Ireland 25 minutes from the air and sea ports. The car came from England when I bought it and will return to the original English reg.

Buy and sell / 2005 E53 3.0D Sport 81k
« on: March 09, 2018, 02:40:53 PM »
For sale is my late 2005 X5 3.0D Sport. This is a truly fantastic example of the E53 shape, it has covered just 81k miles and has an extensive service history to back it up. The original owner had the car up until 2016 and during this period it was maintained only by BMW main dealers. During my ownership I have used a local BMW specialist who regularly comments that mechanically it’s one of the best he’s seen. It was serviced last week. The car is extremely well spec’d, with the following extras; panoramic sunroof, xenon headlights, heated seats, electric memory seats, front and rear parking sensors etc. Everything works in the car and it drives without fault. I currently have a stereo fitted which has a dvd player, digital radio, Bluetooth and sat nav, this will be removed prior to sale unless anyone would be interested in retaining it, in which case it could maybe be worked in to the deal. The alternative stereo also has Bluetooth and digital radio built in. The interior is in fantastic condition. There are a couple of minor age related marks on the exterior, but nothing major. The car is currently fitted with winter tyres which have approximately 5mm left. The summer tyres are branded and also have 5/6mm, these can be refitted prior to sale, the winter tyres can be left on, or both retained at extra cost. This is one of the best examples of an E53 X5 you will find. It has been used as a 3rd in our family but is sadly no longer required. The car currently has a private reg which will be removed prior to sale. Any questions, please ask.

Problems / Rear Wiper Motor Leak
« on: February 21, 2018, 07:39:33 PM »
I’ve noticed over the last few days a weeping down the boot below the wiper arm. I assumed it was the water jet leaking but I’ve disxovered today it comes from the top of the rear screen! Upon further investigation it appears to be oil coming out of the wiper arm. Now I can only assume this is leaking from the motor. I’ve had a search but can find no other cases of this happening. Has anyone ever come across it before?

Google got me a link to a Range Rover forum where it happened to someone and he stripped the motor down and put a new o-ring in to stop the leak.

I’ve removed the complete OEM Nav system from my 55 Plate X5. All parts are working and in very good condition. There are no dead pixels or scratches on the screen. The amp was recently upgraded by Baris at Carphonics and has the upgraded power.

I’d prefer to sell it all together at £500, but would split if someone just wants something on its own.

TV Tuner £180
Widescreen monitor £150
Mk4 Nav unit £150
BM54 amp £100
Cd Changer £50

I have individual photos showing part numbers etc I can email upon request.

General X5 Forum (E53) / OEM TV Tuner Location and Nav Value
« on: January 16, 2018, 12:40:54 PM »
Can anyone tell me where the TV tuner is located in the X5? Is it one of the small bits above the Nav drive?

Also, now that I've replaced my system with an aftermarket kit, can anyone advise on the value of the OEM bits? Digital TV tuner, Mk4 nav drive, screen, changer and BM54 unit.

Buy and sell / BMW iPhone cable
« on: January 06, 2018, 09:30:53 PM »
I have a BMW Apple 30 Pin cable along with a genuine Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter cable. This allows full control and charging of an iPhone with a lightning port. It also has the advantage of giving a bit extra length over the BMW lightning cable. This is for E70 and I assume F15 too. It came out of my E93.

£30 for both, no offers.

Performance / Dtuk Tuning Box
« on: December 08, 2017, 11:56:24 AM »
Anyone know much about dtuk boxes? I’m trying to work out if a box bought for an E70 has the same connections that would be found on an E53. Both boxes are the same model (CRD-t+), I just don’t know if there’s model specific versions.

Anyone help?!

Buy and sell / Intravee and Alpine KCA420i Ipod adapter
« on: December 06, 2017, 11:33:17 AM »
For anyone looking to integrate iPod/iPhone control in an E46/39/53/81 while retaining the oem set up this without doubt the best option available. The Intravee connects to the existing CD changer port and gives an Alpine Ai-Net port for connecting the Alpine KCA 420i iPod adapter too. You can also get a switch to add additional Alpine Ai-Net units such as DAB. The beauty of this is that it displays track info on the stereo better than some OEM units I’ve seen, which is impressive given the stereos are circa 15 years old. It also retains full control via steering wheel etc.

Included is the Intravee, Alpine unit, a CableJive DockStubz charge converter (needed to charge the iPhone as well as play) and a 5m 30pin Apple cable to get the connection up to the front of the car.

It’s still installed in my car at the minute, so I can get some photos of it in-situ this evening.

I'm after £200 for all the above, no offers. I also have a genuine Apple 30pin to Lightning adapter cable and a brodit iphone cradle for it too, both for an extra £30 if required.
