Not sure of what the exact name is...but I need the tailgate panel that has the rubber button and the two number lights mounted in.
Ideally in Sterling Grey....for a 2004 E53 X5

Anyone breaking an X5?

Hi...interested...but a question regarding the aux heater. What is the process to get the thing enabled for heating?

Buy and sell / **Wanted** PDC cover - Off side rear
« on: September 04, 2016, 11:25:37 PM »
Its fallen off somewhere...most frustrating. Now my PDC sensor is hanging inside the bumper and 'sensing' all the time when I put her in reverse.

I need the outer cover (Offside corner), and I think there may be the internal cage bit i need. Had a look on flea bay and don't really want to spend over £20 from Latvia if someone is breaking one in the UK i can exchange for some beer tokens.

My local independent BMW garage fitted my 3 sections for one hours labour. They managed it without taking the bumper off.... Very impressed! Saved me a job!

All three grille sections are now black. The long bottom one, and the upper halves, along with the kidneys.
Will get a picture up.

I have exactly the same issue on my 2004....will be keen to learn any resolutions.
Same symptoms...fine when car is moving, AC lovely and cold. When stuck in traffic and stationary...not very cold at all.
I have never seen or heard the pusher fan kick in.

For the matching set.

I also replaced my front Kidneys with an all black version. Has completely changed the front appearance of the car.

Where it breaks on the carriage you can do a 'temp' repair by securing it with a tie wrap to hold it in place. Some say it lasts...but I would rather do the proper fix.....

I did on mine...better be safe than sorry....

General X5 Forum (E53) / PDC cover needed. Anyone got one spare?

As per title...noticed one of the little plastic covers is AWOL on the rear drivers side corner. The sensor is still clicked in, but i think the cover also secures it?

Seen a new one on eBay for £15...but wondering if anyone has one knocking around in exchange for some beer tokens?

Made good use of my time today and fixed my door handle. Bought a genuine BMW unit off of eBay for £75 delivered. Started at 0930hrs...took my time (couple of tea breaks as well) and all wrapped up by midday. Happy days! That Youtube video link i posted above was a life saver!
Pretty simple job if you do your homework!  Trickiest bit was manoeuvring the new part in place.  :)

The part had broken in the usual suspect place.

Bah...I have just joined the 'broken drivers door handle club'!  >:(
Plenty of info on here and a cracking video I found on YouTube for the replacement.

General Discussion / Bucking the trend..a GOOD eBay seller for a change!
« on: February 05, 2015, 11:45:52 PM »
All too often you hear of bad experience from traders, especially on eBay, but I need to buck the trend and actually report excellent service.
I was on the look out for replacement front grilles as one had a large hole in it. Expensive items from BMW and a few places on the net, I found a seller called 'oe245'...based in Latvia!

A relative new member from August 2014, with 100% feedback I went for it and ordered the long lower piece and the two mid sections. They were reasonably priced (cheapest OEM BMW I could find) and genuine BMW parts.
Straight away I was contacted thanking me for the order, not some automated email. A tracking number was supplied a couple of days later, followed by the items turning up safe and sound a few days later, exactly as described...all the way from Latvia!!
Check them out if you need anything X and BMW.
