My new M50i arriving to the dealer on Monday 14th March. They need to fit the tracker and get it ready, but expecting to take delivery middle to late next week. Hoping I like it - haven’t driven one or even sat in one, though i did have 2 F15s and an E70. Have gone for ivory interior (stock car so d...

I have the faraday pouches from the last car…. So have asked dealer about turning off comfort access. I also have a stop lock pro elite, but its only of use if you actually have it on the car when the thieves come for it. :? I hired a RR a couple of weeks ago and it had been stolen according to the ...

Well I’ve gone and done it. Insurers paid out today on my stolen RRS and I’ve put down a deposit on a new X5 M50i in Arctic grey. Lots of bells and whistles, Extended merino leather, Visibility pack, Comfort plus pack, Tech Plus pack. Pano sunroof, 22 inch jet black double spoke alloys, high gloss s...

Yes, I’m amazed how few posts there are in the G0 section.
My main concern is what the ride is like, as i believe thie 50i doesn’t have air suspension as standard. I’m not bothered, but the family like a soft cushioned ride.

As a previous X5 owner (35d, 30d, M50d) I’m now considering a G05 M50i, so would appreciate any feedback from existing owners. Dont see anything when i search the site? I’m coming from a RRS HST which i loved, but so did the thieves. :x You can’t order a new RRS as the model is being updated in Apri...

Re: 40d to 50d Anyone?
I’m pretty sure the suspension is different - because the 50d comes with air suspension and I dont think the 40d did as standard. Having said that, I went from a 30d to a 50d and didnt notice a different ride (when not in sport). Possibly the wheels on the 50d are bigger and the tyres thinner as well.

Re: Leaving soon...
I think its probably mostly down to diesel becoming a dirty word. I expect petrol will become the same shortly judging by all the manufacturers promising to be all electric. I would happily have bought electric this time ... except for the fact I park on the street where at the moment there are virt...

Re: Insurance
I worked in the insurance industry for 20 years and i agree its just a nonsense. The idea is simple and insurance is definitely something I wouldn’t be without. Sadly its a sign of the times that whether its insurance or utilities, or mortgages, these days you HAVE to shop around every time your par...

Re: Leaving soon...
Yes, I’d love to hear how I should or could have done it cheaper. My experience with PCP and X5 s has been as follows: I’ve bought 3 X5s. Each time I put down as a deposit the equity on the part ex. Each time the deposit increased because the part ex price offered was way higher than the the balloon...

Well my X5M50d will be 4 years old in May and so it was time for a change... This was my third X5, and I’ve been very happy with all of them. The M50d is the quickest I’ve owned and to be fair is far quicker than I need. I do enjoy driving it though. I would simply have kept it, but it was on a PCP ...

Re: Insurance
Mine was due in Feb 2021. For a 3 year 9 month old M50d (f15). I was with LV who had charged circa £860 last year. I’m in Greater London with the car parked on the street, 14 years NCD (other than windscreen 3.5 years ago), Husband and wife only, Social Domestic and Pleasure and a total excess of £5...

My usual strategy with sell by dates is to taste it and see......
