Cheers Jagr. Are your old kits for sale, or if not can you please advise me of what is needed to update the lighting. Cheers. Also it's got satnav, but they are ordering a disc. They said it didn't have Bluetooth, it it says telephone in the menu, and "emergency&quo...

Re: Back in an X ( X3 this time ! )
Looks very good.
Light wise before I retrofitted the xenons I had Hids in the dipped beam and LEDs in the main, fogs and side lights.

As far as I have seen you can replace the plastic actuator on E83 X3's.

Re: E83 Rear Washer
On my last X3 I had to remove the drivers seat and lift carpet to reconnect hose. If doing this try securing it with a jubilee clip or similar.
It usually happens when rear wash is used when frozen, the pressure causes the pipe to get disconnected.

For instance after putting everything back together, the last piece to go back on requires the washer to be extended and held out while attaching the cover.

On my E83 X3 I just used a pair of long nose pliers to pull it up enough too grab it then put the cover on.

Re: Diesel E53, what are the no brainer things to do?
Finally, I have an F11 535i with a manual gearbox, and it has some annoying valve thing that basically makes it appear that I don't have any clutch control. Does the E53 have the same, and if so can it be removed without issue?
On my previous manual X3 I remov...

I just cut it out and have not bothered with the cover as I don't remove my towbar. I only buy the detachable in case I want to.

Re: X3 purchase advice
Firstly good choice of car. The X3 has a few weak spots but nothing major. 1, Rear springs snap but are an easy cheap fix 2, Thermostats both of them EGR and Main (again not too difficult) 3, Tyres need to be correct with a '*' star on them to avoid transfer case problems 4, Check for a wet patch be...

Re: X3 E83 Xenons / Angel Eyes ?
Sure I read somewhere that you could use the thumb wheel to adjust the height beam. There's that many cars out there that have HIDS/ Aftermarket Xenon that fly through the Mot, I wouldn't worry.
Cheers for reply I will have a look at doing it properly but good to...
