Re: Electrical issue / CCC?

Leslie - the new price of the CCC unit was well over 900 + vat + potential issues with having to go to dealer to code once fitted. Second hand units are not an option apparently- these are individually coded to the car. I’ve done a lot of research over the past couple of days, it’s the idrive / sat ...

Re: Electrical issue / CCC?

Update on this - currently at the local BMW independent who have diagnosed the CCC as failed. Options are to have repaired or replace with a new unit that needs coded. Neither option is cheap :(

Re: Electrical issue / CCC?

Thanks x5sport - will try that tomorrow. Suspect though with the radio module being on though I may have a flat? Surely it is drawing on my battery

Re: Electrical issue / CCC?

Leslie - I did that too, battery seemed ok though did ‘dip’ a bit at start up down to 10ish V - upto 14.9/15v when running and 14.4v when revved. My initial thought was battery or alt but all a bit weird - particularly the red light / back light remaining on the radio module

Returned to the fold

After 3 years with a Disco 3 (surprisingly good), and a year with a C class estate I’ve returned to the X5 fold - missed the 7 seats of the disco. Last one was an e53 - now an 07 7 seater.

Re: Buying a high mileage X5

I bought mine with 120k on the clock 2 years ago. Just past 141k last week - only issue since i've had it has been a broken handbrake and a broken rear tailgate switch. Have replaced a couple of wear and tear items and a new battery pre MOT but nothing expensive. Absolutely spot on. Already had the ...

Re: Handbrake Ratchet Replacement

Had to have this replaced for last MOT - My mechanic tried to tighten up the 'slipping ratchet' went he whole thing went. Got a new part form the dealers for about 80 quid - which I thought was very good as its a big enough piece, the ratchet, the handle, the gaitor etc. According to my mechanic - w...
