I sent my bm54 to Baris after losing all sound.  Had a phone call next day to say it all tested ok and he was sending the unit back and would refund all but return postage to me. A week later I text him to remind him to make the refund and as he had forgotten, he refunded the full amount back to me....

Good on you for giving this a go. Not wishing to state the obvious to someone who obviously knows what their doing, but just remember that too much heat when soldering will most likely fry whatever you are trying to solder plus most bits around it. Yes SMC's are bloody small so good luck. 50v cap sh...

I will check that, but as I keep mine on a CTEK it doesn't really make a difference to me.

Whilst walking back to the MOT station he other day, I got out my mobile, gave the car a quick call, low and behold a nice toasty X (and a slightly bewildered tester) awaited me.  GSM works a treat :-)
