Re: Bloody marvelous

Update I've had a poke around under the bonnet and the reason that the power steering is no more is that one of the pulley belt wheels has sheared off. It is also why the battery is showing no charge on the dash. However I don't understand why the Damper control warning message (see pic) comes up al...

Re: Bloody marvelous

Oh right. Well my guess is that this local garage won't have the special tool. I'll ring my regular Indie and see if they can give me the part number before I go ballistic at the MoT garage. They are only 200 yards away, is it safe for me to drive the car with no power to the steering. Only two righ...

Bloody marvelous

I used the local garage to MoT my X5 35d on friday and it failed on a broken front spring so I agreed for them to replace it today as long as it was an oem part. (I always use an indie that i've used for over 14 years but is 25m away) I thought replacing a spring must be quite straight forward no? A...

Re: Yet another recall, seriously!

How the hell does the recall system work?? I went into the Gov website to check out if my wifes ancient Peugeot was still taxed as I'm giving it away. Whilst on the website I checked out the MoT history on said Peugeot etc and thought, why not put in my X5 registration number and do the same just fo...

Re: Finally updated screen

're the GPS, did you order the GPS two way cable? This splits the GPS input between the original head unit and the android unit and therefore no need for the supplied dash cable. Also ref the igo Sat nav, go into file manager and delete it and then download and prioritize your preferred choice of Go...

Re: Strange electrical problem, help needed.

This is a long shot but pull open the cover on the right side of the boot and check down in the cavity at the bottom underneath the fuse board to see if it has water in it.
Mine did some time ago and corroded the copper wires causing all sorts of erroneous messages and faults.

Hope this helps.

Re: Towbar fitting

Factory fit towbars do have the upgrade to oil cooling and a revised grill set up on the bumper to allow for more air cooling of the engine. If you are only planning to tow lightweight trailers such as garden waste little ones then you should be fine with an after market. However if you plan to tow ...

Re: Water leaking in rear fuse panel area

Also check the gromit half way up the frame of the tailgate on the same side. Mine leaked and the cables in the bottom of the cavity below the fuses was saturated. It caused all sorts of error codes and failures.
