Actually...BMW got the fan to run..it was just the condenser at fault.  Got a new one installed by a main dealer and it's lovely now.

Deffo on the warranty..BMW do one through their website, price varies on mileage of course,  the lower the better!

Mine has had quite a bit of money spent on it mechanically since I posted above...will prob list it in December or January....can't really bear to part but with it but can't live with 18mpg and a newborn to pay for! Looking at those listings above, £16k seems quite steep for a 2006 4.8! Mine is a 20...

I got a warranty through the BMW website...if the mileage isn't too high it should be okay...keeps me confident anyway!

I would always be paranoid with wheels that aren't meant for it as the transfer box may get squiffy....could be wrong but I always stick to what the BMW standard were. What does it say on the sticker on the door ref wheel sizes?

My wife and I have just had a baby so I've gone all sensible and gone for a brand new Skoda Octavia Scout on a contract hire. A departure from BMW...but I'll be back! if only I could find who has my 1992 E30 cabrio...would have it back in a shot!
