Tyres replaced abroad

Evening all Quick question if I may. I have. 2017 x3 35d, the car was fitted with Pirelli p.zero run flats all round. I had a complete blow out (1) on the rears while in France. After a few translation issues the garage have fitted 2 Pirelli p zero run flats at the back but I noticed the usual * mar...

yellow battery light - when engine is off

Morning all I noticed at the weekend when the engine was off but the kids were listening to the radio that the bong alert sounded and a yellow battery warning light was displayed. Ive never seen it when the car is driving or the engine is started. I tested again later in the day and within a couple ...

Advice following a small collision

Howdy folks Just after a bit of advice please.... While coming off a small round about in my 2011 X5 a car joining the round about failed to stop and drove directly into the passenger side rear wheel. The car is on 19inch Dueller runflats. There is damage to the wheel (scrapes) and a bit of his bump...

Re: x5 M40d MSport 2011+ - On the Lookout

I wanted an X50D when I brought this one but they were just too expensive at the time.  I have loved my X5 and its just made the urge for the X50D even greater. My best advice is to make a list of must have's that you will not waiver on. Until I did this I was looking at pages of potential cars thou...

Re: x5 M40d MSport 2011+ - On the Lookout

I guess every car is different.  Its a bit like asking if girls are trouble, you will get different story's  :)) I was in a similar position to you and brought a 2011 40D SE Feb 2017.  It was a non BMW garage and came with 3 months warranty.  The car was 1 owner, full BMW SH since new and £64K miles...

Re: New Purchase - advice needed

Best bet is have a drive in both and see what you like best. I personally only wanted the 40D as its got better performance and due to low emissions was actually cheaper to tax. 40D will obviously be more to insure so you might wanna check out the difference.  245 BHP V 306 BHP.  0-60 in 6.6 seconds...

Re: 2010-11 LCI 4.0D M sport

Definitely worth while checking the tyres as these are critical on the X5. (something I wasnt aware of when making my purchase) BMW approved tyres are * marked on the tyre.  When I brought my 40D it had brand new budget tyres.  I was quickly advised in this forum to get these off as there is potenti...

Re: Apple carplay

Just my 2 pence worth.. Low mileage is obviously preferred to high mileage in any case.  But if you think 10-12K  miles per year is considered normal.  A 10 year old car would be considered normal with 120K miles.  These cars are great cruisers and built to do the miles.  The diesels especially need...

Re: Apple carplay

I am not 100% sure as all the X5's I looked at had the media package.  Others may correct me but I think with media pack you get.  Pro Sat Nav - with a wider screen Bluetooth streaming Audio / Phone 80GB internal hard drive for storing your music DVD player USB - not sure if this is part of it but I...

Re: Apple carplay

My Family and kids all have Iphones.  I have the media pack with bluetooth audio.  I stream from google play previously and now amazon music.  I think the car holds up to 4 bluetooth devices  at any time which you can add and remove., so the kids usually play DJ from the back.  I am not sure if the ...

Re: adding side rails

Hi guys Thanks for the replies.  I have a 2011 SE. Was thinking to add side rails like this.  As far as I can tell they are universal for the SE. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-BMW-X5-E70-SUV-2007-2013-Running-Boards-Side-Steps-OEM-Spec-Step-Board-Set-/142090016063 Reusch - did you fit yourself?  ar...
