Re: Gearbox oil

Re- above post ! Just out of curiosity where did you see that temp for refilling the gearbox with engine running ? I'm curious because a bmw mechanic told me some time ago that when they replace gearboxes in-house the temp has to be between 30-35 deg C. Anything higher and you have to start all over...

If you decide on doing it yourself you will need a second pair of hands to sit in the car with the engine running and going through the gears as you are filling. I have an infrared thermometer I use for my bread oven and I point this at the sump while filling. Temp needs to be around 30-35 deg doing...

Re: Transmission Fluid Change - £1,000

Mine is 6 speed. There's no need to remove the support bracket to get at those last 4 bolts. I just got a spare torx bit and cut it in half with a grinder. Re: X5 E70 EGR - Puzzled

One thing comes to mind. You said your indi changed the glow plug controller recently. You need to follow the 2 vacuum lines that run over the top of the controller because I have seen it more than once that when the new relay is fitted one of the vacuum lines slips down and gets piched under the re...
