Well, It's all sorted now. The problem was with the vacuum actuator that operates the swirl flaps, I'm assuming that the diaphragm that moves the arm must have a hole or something. It looks like the small vacuum hoses are 3.5mm ID, with a wall thickness of 2mm. I've found some silicon vacuum hose with an ID of 3mm and the same 2mm wall thickness. Hopefully that should do the trick.

Does anyone happen to know the ID of the various vacuum hoses on the E83?

Haven't had time to check them yet, but it might be good to find a supply of the correct size, in case I find a leak.

Just changed the oxygen sensor, cleared the fault codes and went for a 10 mile drive. Read the codes when I got back and no oxygen sensor faults.

So that's another job ticked off the list, just got to get the snapped glow plug out and the fan sorted, then the car should be perfect.......

The problem has now changed, the fan now doesn't come on at all, but will spin if I turn on the A/C. So the fan is still getting power, but it doesn't seem to kick in to cool the engine down. Both thermostats have been changed and the coolant temperatures are all good now.
