I thought a rear wheel drive BMW 3 series estate was the worst car ever in the snow, until I had a Mercedes C class estate!! That was almost impossible to get uphill unless you could get a lot of momentum going
(Apparently both are much better on winter tyres.)

Winter Tyre’s
Fitted my winter wheels on Monday, probably won't need them, but as I bought them when I bought the x5, it would be tempting fate not to, so I always fit them for the winter months. We are in the Derbyshire Peak District and have been for over 20 years, interestingly, the only times we have had bad ...

Newbie to be (advice)
Also it's got a full service history, but I'd go through that carefully to check dates details etc, and also put the latest reg no in the gov.uk mot history checker, as that may give you an indication on how its been cared for.
Good luck in your quest

Winter wheels fitted today.
Had my winter wheels fitted yesterday, summers polished and put away until next March.
That will probably ensure a mild winter with little snow

Component shortages hitting BMW options
Already seen this on a couple of x5's for sale with a feature / option described as:
Air suspension delete
So careful reading and buyer beware will be even more important going forward.

Fancy an 1800cc BMW but with only two wheels?
Nice looking bike, had a good look round one last week, whilst having a new rear tyre fitted to my R1250RS as a result of a puncture and temporary repair.
The bike is very heavy at 345kg rather long and only 89hp, although has masses of torque. It’s far to heavy and unwieldy for me

Fuel prices rising by the week now it seems
Same sort of distance for me but I fill up at every opportunity when going nearby on my various travels, especially when you take into account that’s it’s a super diesel rather than standard.

Diesel is around £1.48 a litre in the local town, £1.38 in Derby city, but seems to be plenty about this morning.

Battery problems
Was the new battery fully charged before fitting?
If not try putting it on an intelligent charger such as a CTEK or NOCO for a day and /or night and try again, as new batteryare often not fully charged.
Hopefully others will come along with other suggestions ideas shortly.

AA
Glad you got home safely, last time I used the AA, it was to recover my two and a half year old Land Rover Discovery with a broken crankshaft from the hard shoulder of the M5, nearly 200 miles from home. Although fortunately during the day, not raining and without the caravan on the back. The AA wer...
