Did you have the wheels road force balanced or on a normal balancing machine? I've found that virtually every BMW I've had a really sensitive to balancing and getting the wheels road force balanced sorted them.

I wanted to post earlier, but didn't want to jinx it! It would appear that replacing the fluid and reseting the transfer case adaptations has all but cured my low speed shuddering (touching wood!)

I'm about to get all the fluids changed on mine. Engine, Diff, Gearbox and Transfer case.

I reckon the thermostats will need doing as well as prolly never been changed at 64,000 miles. They can wait though as i'm also going to have to shell out for discs and pads in the next few months.

I think that’s a dealer/indie job. Need Autologic or BMW ISTANBUL software. Apparently it should be done when changing the fluid.

I’m going to insist it’s done when getting my fluid changed at the end of the month.

Did you get the TC adaptations reset in the end? If not, might be worth doing that before you couch up for a new box.

Did you reset the transfer box adaptations? Apparently that needs doing after the fluid change. Did you find the fluid change easy?

Been reading up on tinternet about changing the TC builds. It appears that BMW recommend doing that before placing the TC.

Do they only make one oil for the TC, or is there a thicker oil for the Tc's that have problems?
