Strange for wiring to affect that many sensors , however if it were me I would flow the loom from the module back into the wheel archa area and have a very good look for rub marks and water ingress .

I would certainly disconnect it first mate only one connector on it and easily accessible behind bottom of heater box by the fire wall on the drivers side . Remove the panel under the pedals and the trim running along the bottom of the center console and it's right at the back pushed into the heater...

There are lots of possibilities that could contribute to this . How does it idle with the valve connected ? With the engine and ignition off if you operate the throttle from under the bonnet just off its still slowly at idle do you heat the throttle switch clicking ( the micro switch operating ) ? H...

The draw should be approx 0.04 A after 16 mins or 32 mins depending spec of the car. Likely suspects are .. Heater output stage resistor Auxiliary engine pusher fan . Traffic master control unit (if fitted) Faulty battery in a tracker system trying to charge itself - this has caught me a few times.....

You are correct the warranty is with the car not the owner .
You don't have to do anything to transfer it.

Before you remove the driveshaft to change the seal just give it a good firm shake to see if there is any movement in the diff bearing .

Done loads of seals and not seen many bearing issues.
