iDrive issue - Re-booting every 7 mins

Agree - there are often threads where it was never confirmed if the suggestions ever worked or what the resolution was. Can be frustrating when looking for help to a problem someone else has clearly experienced.

Vehicle Tracking Systems & 3G

Need to look into this - I have a Tracker on mine but would hope it was newer tech given it was only installed in 2019.

iDrive issue - Re-booting every 7 mins

To be honest, after I posted the original, I went overseas until April... I only took it into the Main Dealers when I got back and was soon overseas again and completely forgot to respond. I've got out of the habit of coming on here to have a look at things...

Rear Entertainment Screen - Replacement

Absolutely brilliant - that really helps, thank you. I'll see if I can remove the screen first, and then I'll confirm hinge damage. If I can replace hinges and that solves it, I'll be a very happy man. I'm not back in the UK until the end of the month so won't be able to do it until then but will lo...

Rear Entertainment Screen - Replacement

Probably unlikely that anyone else has suffered this pain here, but thought I'd post and see anyway: One of my beautiful sons (neither will admit) has managed to break the bracket for the Rear Entertainment Screen on the Passenger side of my F85. The hinge assembly appears to have cracked and broken...

iDrive issue - Re-booting every 7 mins

Just wanted to jump on to close this one out - I took it into Main Dealer and had them run diagnostics. No real issues found, so they did a software reload and two months on all is working properly still. Must have just been some sort of glitch. Glad it was nothing worse such as Hardware. Cheers, Tu...

iDrive issue - Re-booting every 7 mins

Hi all, Long time since I’ve been on here. Hope everyone has had a good Christmas. On my way to Lapland UK (Windsor) which was about a 5 hour drive, the iDrive started to re-boot. Was pretty annoying, and hoped it would sort itself out after an engine restart but it didn’t. I’ve read in places it co...

Re: Rear Entertainment - Bluetooth Headphones

Thanks - A little bit of a flaw given that both screens can play different things, and you can listen to your own music. It is fine with the cables, just not very tidy and the kids keep pulling the wire out and complaining... I'm due to go in for a Service soon so will make sure I mention it then an...

Rear Entertainment - Bluetooth Headphones

Hi Guys, Had my X5M for almost a year now, but with working overseas, I haven't really got into how everything works but now it is starting to bug me... I have the Rear Entertainment System which I also have the BMW M Bluetooth Headphones so the kids can listen without putting me and my wife through...

Re: Idrive/connected drive queries

Do you have a premium sound system? I have the Bang and Olufsen system in my X5 and honestly I couldn't tell you the difference between a CD, my Hard Drive, or the Bluetooth...

Re: Extended warranty

If you have the Comprehensive, then it should be. It isn't a consumable part, and can't really be put down to wear & tear. On my E53 I must have had 5+ Airbags replaced on my Suspension under Warranty which is effectively the Spring.

Re: BMW extended warranty explanation

I extended my warranty on my 2004 E53 up until July when I sold it - was worth it for the work I had done, but pricey if you are buying a car of that age because that is what your budget allows.

That M5 is a stunner - very very nice.

Hope the clunk gets sorted on the M50D.

Re: 66Plate M50D pics and a few queries

Nice motor and a nice spec... I possibly should have considered a 50d but I wasn't doing that many miles so just went for an X5M after the M5. Now my little lad has started school, my wife is doing around 80 miles a day and we are in the fuel station every 3-4 days! Despite that cost (and the ...
