Re: flatt battery and error message
Try turning the steering fully from lock to lock a couple of times. I have seen reference to this being needed after a flat battery. I've never had that, even with a flat battery, but have seen references to the procedure on the xoutpost.com site

Re: flatt battery and error message
Had the same message on mine after a flat battery. All sorts of odd things can appear on the warnings if you do get a dead battery and they'll go away once the battery charge is back to where it should be. The on board electronics don't like low voltages and do all sorts of odd things. That warning ...

I've only gone and ordered one
I must have a touch of the sun............. Just gone and ordered and brand spankers E71 in Vermilion Red with Beige Exclusive Nappa Leather and Style 214 Alloys - and lots of toys. Should be here around November time. At least the wait is less than the 10 months for my 2005 E53. Need to get ...

Re: where's Jalf?
I'm looking at buying one to replace my E53, but can't decide whether to get a new one, or a nearly new one. It'll be a Diesel whichever one I end up getting, assuming I can get the right spec at the right price. Don't get me wrong, I love my E53 and it's barely run in at 43k miles, but I do like th...

Re: Glad I got the BMW Warranty now!
I never got offered the BMW Extended Warranty (original dealer had ceased to exist by them), but I did take out Warranty Direct Luxury Car Cover and it saved me an absolute fortune when the auto transmission and Mechatronics Unit failed. I think the BMW quote was nearly £10k. It was rebuilt for abo...

Re: Daytime Running Lights
Sort of, and thanks for looking. All the latest models use the angel eyes, but there seems to be a plethora of options for older models depending upon which country the car is built for. I'm not convinced I'll get the right answer from the dealers either as I've been given duff info so many times by...

Re: All hail from the East
Thanks for the welcome folks. We're in the far North East of Beds on the border with Cambs. SWMBO loves her 330cd vert as it has some get up and go when you give it a bootfull. I have to admit being a bit fond if it myself, on the very rare occasion I'm allowed to get behind the wheel! The straight ...

Daytime Running Lights
With the introduction of the European Directive on Daytime Running Lights (DRL) coming in for all new cars from next year, I was wondering if anyone knows which light units are actually running if you have the option enabled by a Dealer (I assume there's no other way of doing it?) on a post facelift...

Re: first car
1974 'M' Reg VW Type III 'Fastback'. I passed my test in July 1980 and bought this for £700 two weeks later. It was rear engined, heating system ran off the exhaust, windscreen washers were powered from the spare tyre - which had to be kept at 46psi - and there was a boot at both ends. I never got ...

Re: Any Thoughts on Current TV's LCD/Plasma?
Although I was originally looking for a 46" replacement for our Pannie Viera 37", I actually bought one of these: http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/P ... index.html I have to say were were both very taken with it's performance is SD, HD and 3D. Standard definition is really very good e...

Re: Time for a new camera
Amen to that too!! I've been taking photos for decades and have probably only got a few hundred or so that I would say I'm really happy with. I still make the occasional howler even now and kick myself!! Digital imaging has the advantage that you can make mistakes and just delete them rather than ha...

Re: Debate (no not Masturbate Mogs!) - why did you buy the X
I bought my E53 in 2005 after a good deal of research into suitable vehicles. I have a serious spine injury and actually needed 9 months off and major surgery in 2009, which has helped a lot, but not completely fixed the problem. I'm 6' 4" so need a car that has room to sit in and drive comfort...

Re: Any Thoughts on Current TV's LCD/Plasma?
No pics if our setup, but in the last couple of months I've finally taken the HD plunge ans chaned our old 37" Pano plasma for one of their new 50" 3D sets with a Sony 3D Blu-ray and a new Pioneer 3D pass through 9.1 amp (only using 7.1 with a 10 year old Bose Acoustimas 15 system plus two...
