Re: Help please: ABS DSC BRAKE all 3 lights, sensor replaced still faulty issue

Interesting.. My old E39 had similar problems which turned out to be the abs module. I paid £195 for a used one which sorted it. As for the holding back or slowing down sooner than it should - mine does that sometimes. We have  two identical X5's so i can compare. Hers seems to be slightly 'keener' ...

Re: Opinions..

Her car is a really good one although its got to the point where items are wearing out. The bi fold doors and decking is going to cost circa £7500. I spotted a RR for £10500 not too far from me and I can get 3K trade in price. Still have to fork out £7500.. I calculated about £1200 to do all the wor...

Re: Opinions..

Are you lot saying that about RR because you are biased towards BMW.. My Cayenne never cost us a penny in the 18 months we had it - although I was always on edge waiting for something to break. Well the wife has decided that she would rather have bi fold doors and decking done outside the kitchen in...

Opinions..

The wife has recently been talking about swapping her X5 for a Range Rover sport.. I quite fancy one too, but - her car is a 2 owner 90k 4.4 with fsh. At the moment its got to the age/milage where all the suspension parts need replacing to firm it up (like i have done with mine) and a new set of tyr...

Re: Winter door handle problem - again!

The wifes car driver door always freezes internally. I can open the door but it wont stay closed. I get the heat gun on it for 5 min to defrost it. When its warmer ill take the door panel off and lube all the latch inside.

I put some in the tailgate of our black one. They are like football stadium lights compared to mine.

Re: Spare wheel use

Last year i had a new set of tyres on the front of my E53. After a few weeks the front dif started to click or pop when changing from drive to reverse. It wasn't until i put new rears on several months later that the noise stopped. I didn't know what it was but it must have had something to do with ...

oh no! wet carpet..

I was cleaning all the dirt out of the cars today. In the rear footwells i have large rubber over mats that i made to stop the mud from the kids spoiling the car. Anyway, i lifted the mats to clean and found that the rear driver side is wet on the floor. I have a feeling that the rubber mat has been...

Re: Key fob will open car and disarm alarm, but wont lock it ?

The car could have gone into transport mode. One of ours did it twice. If memory serves the interior light doesn't work either and that is a sign. Needs diagnostics to change setting.

Re: Why winter tyres here

Well, I was out in my X5 in a load of snow last weekend with standard tyres on and I had no trouble at all. I live in a rural location where the roads don't get gritted or cleared either. There is a hill not too far away on the A10 going down into Royston and cars were stuck and sliding all over the...

engine mounts 4.4

Has anyone had issues with the engine mounts on a 4.4? The reason I'm asking is that we have to identical X5's and recently my car seems to feel 'harsher' between 2-3k revs. The other car is smooth in comparison. Also, when its started from cold it definitely feels like the engine is less isolated f...

Re: Window Tints - Pictures Anyone

Our black one has mega dark back windows that seem to be factory fitted as there is no tint film on them. Can barely see in the back from outside.
