Does anyone have problems opening the pan roof if it hasn't been opened for a while? mine seems a bit jammed and needs a push to help it, I'm to scared to force it to much once opened is there anything that can be done to lube it up ?

Was bmw the first manufacturer to have it? I'm sure my old e36 had it.

hi, i had a 4.4 e53 and now have a 3.0d e70 (m57) and I do about 5000 miles a year, both cars have been money pits :x the e53 was more electrical problems and the e70 more mechanical problems. I've had the e70 for 2 years now and have spent about £4000 on it excluding tyres and servicing :headbang: ...

My e70 pano roof gets a bit stuck if I haven't used it much, I just help push it back with the palm of my hand whilst pressing the button and it opens fine.

It was on about 107k and came with a 2 year warranty

The total bill for the gearbox at bmw was about £7500 I had to pay £2700 towards that

bmw said mine was low oil and charged me for a top up as fluid isn't covered under warranty but it still kept doing it.

I remember now mine was the solenoids, good luck with it.

Mine did the exact same thing and it got to the point where it wouldn't even move without jumping out of gear. I was quoted about £2000 to fix it but eventually got a new gearbox fitted at bmw under warranty/ good will (long story).
