Wife thinks I've lost the plot....wheels related.

Post by sapphireblack » Tue Mar 19, 2019 1:52 pm

I already have more wheels than anyone should but have just bought another set.

Plans are to run these through winter 2019/20 and quite likely swap the rims to summer tyre use thereafter. I've been on the lookout for some OE black rims for a while now but stumbled on these by pure chance. Regular 10 & 11" 20s but with a typical aggressive ACS look. Just refurbished, new centre caps, 100% genuine (from the ACS UK importers). New cost £3400 without tyres :o :o

Needless to say, i paid somewhat less 8)

The trouble I found with ACS wheels, I fitted some to my E60 5 series after I discovered
3 out of my 4 OEM rims were buckled , this only showed up when I went to non Runflats.
They make your discs and Calipers look naff and lost in the gaps.
So next mod will have to be a Brembo large brake kit and drilled discs. 😬£££££££

A brake upgrade is not going to happen. Unnecessary at the very least :)

I'm aware ACS stuff has smaller looking hubs but the rims are no bigger and although there will be more disc on show I don't think they'll look lost, X6 discs are hardly small.

They arrive on Monday. If the weather's nice I may try a rear 'just because' 😎

Oh well, purchase aborted.

It seems ACS wheels require longer bolts which were included but still needs a dedicated locking bolt set. They were subsidised to £65 but that's crazy stuff and an additional cost i wasnt expecting. Deal has now been cancelled, which is disappointing.
