Intermittent 4x4 warning light?

Post by sapphireblack » Thu Dec 26, 2019 11:15 am

Query relates to an E53.

Im flirting with the idea of an E53 to take to my home abroad, a nice looking Toledo? Blue example is with a non franchised dealer who has declared the above. Despite many previous years of E53 ownership i have no experience of this problem. Is this a known issue, easily resolved or a wallet emptier?

How long is a piece of string, could be something cheap and simple, intermittent wheel sensor, low oil level, ABS module etc etc, could be wallet busting. Needs as a first step the codes read by a quality reader.

Google searching suggests an actuator motor of some sort on the transfer box. That sounds ominously expensive :(

If it is that it's a cents value nylon bush in a $1000+ part
