Hi sure is the only trouble is trying to get the tyres quite a lot are on back order !

I'm looking to get the X5M some winter tyres.

I had Yokohama W.Drive Tyres on the E53 and they were excellent. Was looking at the same for the X5M but want to keep the staggered 21" set up because I didn't get an X5M to then make it look like an SE for 4-5 months of the year! Is my only option in this case to get the pricey Pirelli's?

Numerous German sellers offer ready built up 20" winter sets part worn usually. Some with approved *rated Pirelli others with various tyre brands. It all comes down to you and your belief in BMWs edict of only * rated tyres are recommended.
My summary is 285 40 20 *Pirelli Winter on a staggered set approximates BMWs specification for the F15. That was my plan until my wheel deal went boobies up.

Hi try willtheyfit.co.uk as the F15 wheels are wider on the rear putting them on may effect ride height and slight speedo difference !

F15 M models have 10 x 20 fronts and 10.5 x 20 rears for winter with 285 40 20 "Pirelli Winter" spec all round. Iirc they're 3-4mm taller than 275/315s, so not a problem.

I am £1600 poorer but finally have what I wanted.

259s in BMWs Orbit Grey with BMW * approved Pirelli winter rubber, 285 40 20 all round on staggered rims looks absolutely fine, bring on the snow!

The colour rendition is poor here, they're nicely very dark without being black

Yet again, we are having a mild winter.

When I washed the F25 yesterday, I noticed that the original Style 305s, which have only been used as winter wheels for the last 2 years, are going downhill fast. They will need a refurb this year, for sure. The Pirellis that are on them are now well over 7 years old, but still over 4mm, and I'd rather not put them on newly-refurbed wheels for just 1 winter. I'm torn between Michelin CrossClimate+ (never got the chance to try them on the Picasso as that one got written-off and its replacement came with winter tyres on) and Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen2 - but I've got another 7-8 months to ponder that one.

What I will do is run all-weather tyres from the beginning of November until the end of March, rather than winter tyres from December-February as I've always done on my BMWs.

If i reach the point of selling both my winter sets and the Continental summer's are finished much sooner than i ever anticipated, my plan is to fit Vredestein all season tyres and just run them permanently.
