Post by acideraser » Tue Feb 22, 2011 11:14 am

Could not find any information on this in the forum or www :headbang: . I wonder what colour are Angel eyes on face lift e70 - are they white and matching to xenon headlights or yellowish?

thanks for the info

If yours dont match the Xenons you need to get some GP Thunder H8 bulbs.
I've just ordered a set for £20 delivered from the States.

I don't know if they match or not - still waiting for new built to be delivered. Specification says LED daylight driving lights, but white or not?
The car is week 7/2011 built

thanks

Yeah, the GP Thunder ones, they looked extremely bright but only lasted about a week at most, passenger side popped and showered the glass all over the inside of the headlight unit, drinking straw taped to the hoover get it out, not a happy bunny at all, I switched to LED PIAA ones which are not as offensively bright and so far no trouble.

Make sure the bulbs stay clean, so there is nothing on them to cause them to heat up (finger prints and so on) mine even blew the headlight back cover off, luckily it wedged into the engine bay so I didn't loose it.

A plus note, I do have a spare GP thunder bulb if anyone needs one

I have the GP Thunder bulbs in mine. I got them from Evolve, if you mention me they should recall, I can't recall how much they were but surprisingly not expensive for the E70. The facelift ones will not work, its not the bulb alone which makes them bright. I've experimented with something similar and it didn't work.

All of the LCI E70s now have the 60-LED array and control unit. Shame they didn't do it on the X6 too - but no doubt that will appear on the LCI when it is released. Not that it's likely to be retrofittable though.
