Anyone recommend an OBDII reader for E70

Post by Alchemist » Wed Oct 03, 2018 8:43 pm

Hi all,

I'm just looking for something straight forward that will run on IOS on an app, ideally over Bluetooth.

All I'd like it for is mainly:
  • Reading fault codes
  • Getting engine temp and having this displayed on my phone while driving
Any recommendations appreciated!

Carly

Mycarly dot com.

Bluetooth adapter plugs in and you use you iDevice.  Free version of the app allows some options, paid for does much much more.  All the details are on their website  :)

BMW also do an app with a dongle that gives driving data - but probably not what you are really after.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

I favour Carly as above and have one!

However they recently changed the software and subscriptions so may be worth researching, I believe the old system had payfor upgrade, when they renewed the software they “put” an annual subscription onto the cost for new owners, whereas previous owners maintained they’re pay once subscription..

Certainly worth checking as I could be talking balony!

Yep Carly too as even my Foxwell Bmw readers which does a lot like regeneration and coding can’t read codes which Carly picked up.
Go for Bluetooth android as it’s cheaper. The sting is the annual subscription though
