Guys I buy part worn tyres and they are star marked usually cost me £45-50 a tyre. They usually have a good 5-6mm

Hi all

so quest for buying a new to me X5 still continues... it so happens that this one is now available again as the person who bought it still hasn't got finance approved so dealership are now open to me viewing it.

So back onto the original query, apart from the wrong rivets being used - which i assume i can sort with ease? Anything else to be mindful of in this space?

What about the black arch liner that seems to be out of place?

RE tyre i've raised with them and they said car is priced accordingly and because it will go through an MOT they are not going to change it.

Wrong rivets, misaligned black plastic, possibly from previous accident damage?
Maybe why the previous owner could not get finance (or possibly dealer speak for "he walked away after further info came to hand)

I would be concerned if the dealer would not be prepared to negotiate on tyres, as it could be the start of very expensive transmission problems for the new owner.

Also looking at the photo albeit on a phone, the discs looks very badly corroded, looks more than surface rust to me, another potential expense.

Presume you have run a history check on the car and if there is any doubt, maybe see if you can speak with previous owner and enquire about its history and why the rivets?

Does it come with a good robust warranty?

If in any doubt walk or run away, although if still set on the car then look at an Independent inspection by a reputable expert

Corroded discs are normal if the car has been parked up. Metal rivets suggest the car wasn't looked after like it should have been. Mileage and price?

Went to view car today. Not bad rust isn't an issue and I think just a cash of putting together properly.

That said rest of car was ok though interior could have been prepped better.

Up for 17.5k not a bad car, with warranty full bmw service history and comfort seats and suspension.
