I have the iPod with the BMW connector ( USB and audio ). Can I leave it connected in the car when parked. Ie will the unit go to sleep.

I have the intravee set up and it does with that but i'm not sure on the bmw one :idunno: someone will be along soon though who does have one i'm sure...maybe not this early mind ;) It's worth asking though as any battrey drain on these x's can cause all sorts of agro :headbang:

Hi FYI on the intravee if you go on the intervention web site there is a guy on there that will sell you a chip to mod it so it wakes up. So no more fiddling about turning it in all the time. I will see if I have his contact details when I get to my lappy. From memory it was a fiver.

The iPod will go to sleep, playing from where you left off when you start back up, does on mine anyway.

Always keep in mind that these unit have a certain operational temperature range. Cold days mean the iPod won't work til it warms up!

That's a battery killer too.

Also, think about leaving things in the car for security reasons...

If you own an iPhone that has the iPod ability and is one you will never want to leave in the car. Dual purpose. :thumbsup:

On the e61 the ipod sits under the phone cradle and is hidden well out of the way. I use an old white classic and leave in the car all the time. never had a problem with it starting up.
