Fitting F15 X5 alloys to E71 X6 TPMS?

Post by ahmed_b08 » Wed Dec 10, 2014 11:57 am

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forums and after running a quick search, I couldn't find the answer to my question (I'm sure someone can point me in the right direction if this has been discussed already).

My father in law has an E70 X5 3.0d M Sport and we have some genuine 20" 469 alloys and tyres which were removed from an F15 X5. He would like to sell them now as he is thinking of changing cars.

The wheel fitments are all fine and the centre bore is 74.0mm all round. I know the X6 has front 74mm centre bore and rear 72.6mm centre bore (so I have purchased some spigot rings). If we were to fit these wheels to a 2013 BMW X6, is it as simple as swapping them over or does the BMW X6 have TPM sensors which are on the valves of the old wheels?

My question, essentially, is that if we fit the wheels onto an X6, is it as simple as resetting the tyre pressure from the I-drive or will we need new TPMS for the wheels too?

Thanks

X6 TPM sensors use the ABS system so you should be fine.
