Lowering X6 advice

Post by Mavster » Thu Apr 03, 2014 7:50 pm

I will be collecting the X6 next week and the missus told me how funny the gap in the arches  looks from her height which is below me at 6'6". :o  I need to get it lowered, has anyone done this on here and can recommend springs that will make the car corner more flat but not firm up the ride any more. H&R perhaps ? Also please recommend spacers size for the existing  BMW 20"s' to make it look like it is sitting properly on them.

If you can recommend someone good near East London to fit them, then even better

Cheers

Steve

Hi

if your after info on lowering your X6 try a pm or a search for west side as he did a load to his one even if he doesn't reply you should, be able to pick up the details from his build posts.

If your after wok being done it would be worth contacting Jason at Chiptune as he does bmw as a specialist and does a lot of work for member of the forum.

There are others who have also lowered their X6's so it worth doing a search on lowered maybe

Surely this defeats the point of the x6? Think it would look bad lowered personally.  Lord it up high I say :)

You could always buy a 5 series GT.  That's a slammed version of the X6 !!  :-)

:))  I don't like them GT's, and you are right.    I don't want to slam it, just 1 inch more would do f&r.

Does it have air suspension at the rear or springs?

Kav (Westside) used H&R springs and it looked spot on. Not too low at all.

It has springs Raj.

I think bigger wheels will make the ride harder, so discounted that idea, besides current tyres are almost new.. Would look good though.

A nice set of Eibach or H&R springs all round will do the job nicely without killing the height or ride.
