E70 project

Good evening all,

I'm from Carnoustie Scotland, Ive just bought a 2009 project E70, the upper timing chain has snapped so im sure to be asking lots of questions on the way :)

Hello and :hi:

You may find the resources at newtis.info of use.....copy of the BMW Service manual.

Parts database is at Realoem.com (current copy of the BMW parts database). Use the last 7 of your VIN in the ‘serial number’ box to pull up your model.

And the rest of them, just ask the Forum :D

Thanks for the replies,

Its the M57 engine, I don't have it fully stripped down yet however, 1 of the exhaust camshaft bearing caps & 6 rockers are broken, I removed both camshafts & performed a cylinder leak down test, amazingly every cylinder holds pressure!!

I'm still going to remove the cylinder head when I get a minute.

Ive just checked Realoem, that will be very useful thanks :D
