New to X5s, not to BMW's

Post by Sam-mubarak » Wed Nov 27, 2019 10:52 am

Good morning, just bought an e70 X5 30sd m sport, 2008 with quite high mileage at 171k, but full BMW service history.

I'm new to x5s, but had a handful of E36 m3s, an E46 320cd, and still have my imola red 540i sport.

The one I've bought is a bit "gangster" or "tacky" for my liking, but well specced from factory, and things I can soon change myself.

Would anyone be interested in swapping wheels, or swapping the running boards for m sport skirts ?

Thanks, Sam

That is a really nice e70. Looks in really good condition. Does that mean I have gangster dna. Wouldn’t change anything but its your vehicle. It’s nice that someone has run it in for you.

Nice car, like you I purchased a high mileage X5, but a 40D. I have never been too put off by mileage to be honest if the car has been well maintained. My car had 202000 miles on her when I bought her in February this year, a short time later the high pressure fuel pump gave up the ghost sending swarf throughout the entire fuel system. I managed to get heavily discounted parts from the dealer, but still cost me the thick end of three grand to sort. It may be worth checking to see whether the pump has been replaced and if not consider adding it to your list.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Congrats on the car and it does look very tidy and yes I can see your car is quiet black including the wheels.

I think you could always have the wheels painted/ powder coated in BMW ferric grey I think that would go well and break up the black.

You may be able to find the MSport side skirts via eBay as there has not been many for sale on here.

Graeme
