I'm looking to hire a large (6 bedroom +) holiday villa in Spain / canaries / Balearics next August 03- 17.
Plan is for myself, wife and two kids have it for two weeks but during our stay extra family members can join and ruin our holiday for a long weekend etc.
I've scanned James Villas etc but thought I would ask on here.

We used owners direct for the 1st time  (peace of mind) then book direct with the owner.
Try Lanzarote owners direct on Facebook great site and all the property’s/owners are checked out.
I’m going to say it but I reckon your savvy don’t pay deposit by bank transfer as you no your not covered and there as been loads of people lately scammed and I mean £££ I’ve seen 1 family lose £5000.
I personally with the help of Neil who’s an admin on that site have weeded out loads on Facebook.

What’s your budget?

I’m currently in Greece off the tourist trail in a villa that’s sleeping 10 and it’s wow with a big W.....

5 doubles but some are big enough for singles as well so 10 is easy to do.

This shot was taken with my drone

It’s in the Gulf of Corinth about 90 minutes west of Athens.

Home tomorrow  :(

My wife found it on the net through www.homeaway.com

Absolutely fantastic villa in a part of Greece west of Athens and well off the tourist trail. It overlooks an inland lake which is part of the Gulf of Corinth.

It’s a 5 bed with 3 on-suite o ver 3 floors. Very well equipped, Apple TV, air con etc. etc. to the point of a downstairs ‘honesty’ bar. All the owner asks is simply if you use it please replace it.

Couple of points of note:

You need a car
Shower in family bathroom was faulty - owner has been made aware
There is a infinity terrace off the swimming pool overlooking the lake that doesn’t have a fence so small children need to be looked after
The local area is clearly suffering from austerity however there’s a good supermarket about 10 minutes drive away in the local village along with a bakers and off-license.
Loutraki (the local big town) has everything you need and more including much bigger supermarket/fish mongers etc. and is about 25 minutes drive
There are three tavernas around the lake all serving food during the day and providing you’re not looking for 4* food it’s fine and not too expensive.

I’d go back with no hesitation whatsoever.....

I’m sure I heard Boris on the radio yesterday saying that the day we exit the E.U should be a public bank holiday celebration

Do you agree ?
