True, then it would have a proper engine too
But the V8 in the M3 has very little torque though and the problem with it is that max power is 414bhp at 8300rpm which is fine...but they only gave it 295ib/ft of torque which isn't when you need to shift over 1600kgs of weight...so you have to rev the arse off it to get it to shift so in reality it very rarely feels fast on the road  :'( unless you drive like a clown (not a problem on a track though which it is very suited I would think)

Don't get me wrong I appreciate a high rev N/A engine for a fact...but they got it wrong with the V8 M3 for me...and now they have tried to put it right with the M4 but everyone is moaning about the M4`s noise and the fact that it cant put its torque down on the road so it seems BMW just cant really win sadly and credit too them that they have offered both variants in the past for punters to choose.
Completely agree with this. I don't want to have to ring it's neck overtime I want to enjoy the power and the M unfortunately is the case. I much prefer the low end shove with the tuned 335i and the other mods already done mean I can actually enjoy it more and handling is getting on par with the M for a lot less money too (for me with this one anyway).

Mine varies between 24mpg and 27mpg...so I reckon I would have been far better off having something which is a fair bit quicker as standard and then just awesome once tuned like the 335i can be.  8)

I also love the rear exhaust set up on the 335i too, they sound nice as well.  :)
The power delivery is proper shove you into the seat. Can't wait to go even bigger power lol.

I like the exhaust look but still prefer quads lol
Love your need for speed! 8) you have the best of both regards the exhaust set up with the two lovely motors you have.
Ha ha very true.

Was enjoying the X just before the New Year. Still love the drive and sound of that V8.

See now I never appreciated the sound as much as now as I was always driving it lol.

Only now when my wife drives off and puts her foot down do I truly hear it for all it's glory lol. I can now understand what everyone else used to go on about lol.

Yes I agree its fairly muted from inside but even though mine was still on its standard exhaust I just loved revving it with the door open...such a lovely sound...I am starting to sound like a saddo!! lol. I just love a nice traditional V8!  8)

Looking at that mod list though, would it not have been easier to get a M3  :))
How old are you !?! ;)

I know what you mean, the RS lacks the torque too but I do love giving it the beans. It is not the car for a back road blast though as you need to much space to build up the speed.

Can't beat the lotus for that and it's supercharged in and out of traffic.

Totally agree with new M3/4. Major disappointment of the year for me having driven a few on road and track, you just fight to get the power and torque down

Tbh the sport variant was the original choice but for the money and the mod list already done by the previous owners I couldn't say no really and the difference is so negligible between sport and se.

But that's easily rectified so not enough underlying differences to warrant passing up this SE.

So another mod completed to add to the list.

Huge thanks to a member on E90post for kindly popping over today and coding out the checks etc so I could get these fitted.

LCI Rears nicely freshen up the rear. Will look better once my plate goes on:

That looks great  8) not a cheap mod either because I looked into swapping mine on my old E92 M3 because they looked dated, great mod.  :)

Nice one Raj, Congrats.

Looking at that mod list though, would it not have been easier to get a M3  :))
I guess you've got the enjoyment of building a tailored car as you please

Looking forward to the updates
Cheers.

I've been fortunate that the mod list was completed by 2 previous owners so I have benefitted without the associated cost for once lol. However I will be making up for it with future planned mods LOL.
Sorry bro, I thought the mod list was what you we're going to do to the car, I didn't realise they had already been done  ::) lol
Just need the m sport bumpers and all good. What's the plans with the chrome trim, wrapping or something else?
