SOLD 2006 X5 E53 3.0d Sport SOLD

2006 X5 E53 3.0d Sport

After nearly 5 years of ownership I’m letting my X5 go. Having purchased from a friend who had the car from nearly new it has been well looked after. In my ownership and those before, it has wanted for nothing and has always been repaired with genuine or quality parts.

Engine pulls as it should and the box is smooth and has never had any issues. I’m very familiar with the M57 engine in these (I have a 330d and also fitting one into a defender) and I wish my replacement VW had the same engine. I genuinely will be sad to see this car go...

Milage 135000miles

Bodywork:
BLACK SAPPHIRE METALLIC (475)
Freshly painted front bumper with new genuine titanium inserts (go brittle with age)
Wide arch factory sport kit
The body work is in excellent condition, has a few stone chips but that's expected.

New Osram replacement HID bulbs. I think these were around £100 when I changed them. The car is factory xenon, I just fitted new ones as they were a bit dim. Also added led angel bulbs, again not cheep rubbish.

Wheels
Factory 20" freshly powder coated in silver with 4 matching Toyo load rated tyres. All with 5mm+ tread
(4 wheel alignment carried out once the wheels were on so no uneven wear)
I ran E70 winters so the 20”s haven’t seen any harsh weather.

Engine/running gear
BMW service history up until 2014 after this it was serviced by myself using genuine parts and Castrol oil
New viscous fan (genuine part)
Gearbox service (Correct ZF oil and genuine filter and gaskets)
Front end polly bushed with Powerflex bushes (full 4 wheel alignment at Porsche Ninemeister in Warrington)
New Brembo discs and pads (less than 1000 miles ago)
Front calipers painted in gunmetal
New genuine steering link (old one was clicking abit)
New CV joints x4 upfront
New Bosch starter motor
Bosch S5 Battery
Genuine thermostat and coolant flush and replacement

Interior
standard from factory but well spec'd
Panoramic roof (all working)
Factory tints
full Napa leather in black (front seats heated)
Heated steering wheel
Cruise
Large factory Navigation, with free view
AC- ice cold, re-gassed 18 months ago
Soft close boot

Issues,
Parking heater was randomly firing up when the car was parked. All the X5s start to suffer with this problem due to the PCB failing because of age. I have removed the fuse to prevent battery drain.

Drivers window clicks when going down. Has done this for the last 2 years but never got around to fixing. I do have a brand new mechanism with motor to go with the car

Apart from that it is a great car and will be sad to see it go, I just cannot justify keeping it now as we have just bought a VW Caravelle.

I will take a picture of all the receipts etc and get them up. If anyone is interested before it goes on eBay then let me know.  Ive probably forgotten loads of other bits but will update the listing if I have.

I am away at the minuet so will get some decent pics when I get back.

Car is located in Runcorn, Cheshire

Looking for £5500

Car is on a private plate which I will be removing when I get home. Will go back on its 06 plate.

Good looking one and if I had the money now I'd have it !

Was the wide Arch kit an option on the sport as the only wide Arch diesels I've seen are Le Man's editions ?

Any fitted with 20” wheels got them if memory serves.

I was writing the listing and selling the car to myself in the process. Wish I didn’t have to sell but just can’t justify keeping it...
