Another error on my part as it doesn't suit the older key my cars have. Not sure what type its for tbh but there's a central pin that locks through a hole in the key body. It doesn't fit the key type with holes top left and right.

I'd like to recover my huge outlay of £10 incl postage

I think you will find it's for the later F15 X5 and X6 keys

I had the same prob for my E70 key and found this and design A fits the key and not very expensive

Thanks for the link. Not sure about the M stripes but a definite possibility

The OEM cover for the X6 has been ended, but the slide linked to has the part number for hunting any remaining stock...
