From time to time on a cold start i will get the amber engine light flash on and off if i leave the car to tick over it goes out and all is fine , some times it will come on and stay on when i check the fault codes it comes up with 274E misfire detection checksum failure with misfires detected on cylinders 2,3,5,6,7,8 , but once its warm it never shows a fault i have looked into this fault code and it seems people talk about coil pack failure , spark plug failure and even chain slipped on pulleys , thing i dont understand is once its been started the fault seems to clear and it drives with no issues should i be thinking about replacing the plugs and coil packs or is there something else that would give this fault ..........

From what I've read, several different posts say 02 sensor , would have expected it to be all the misfires on one bank though, not on 6 of the eight cylinders.
Have you got inpa, or a reader that will let you read live data from the 02 Lambda sensors.?

Dont have access to inpa but can get my hands on a snap on reader but every time i check the codes never a mention of a o2 sensor fault , this is why i am confused as people speak of lots of cures for this code but no one seems to agree on what that fix is ..

update on this problem after a bit of research it appears this issue could be linked to the intermediate levers not 100% sure what thats all about so still doing some research into it think this mite have been a recall fault , am keeping my snap on microscan in the car now and have started to keep a log of the fault as and when it happens

Some other checks to do would be to check the fuel pressure. Could have a weak pump or a leaking injector. That might be why it happens on start up.
