SANJ.....Help

Started new job today, woohoo.....Radio's packed up boohoo.....
Satnav,telly, phone everythings fine. Headunit will open up and take and eject a cassette, but none of the radio controls will work. Wont turn on,nish.
Usual ctrl,alt,del(disconnect battery/remove and refit radio module?)

Yeap, Ibus reset. Happened to someone else on this forum I think???

My kids spotted the cassete reciever in the headunit the other day when i was fiddleing with the eject button (whilst bored shi@:>s waiting outside tesco's) and they both said 'whats that dad' to which i replied 'its a tape player' they then both looked at me like i was an alien of some sort and said 'whats a tape' :rofl:
I don't think my kids have ever seen a video tape either :o only dvd's :)

Yeah its a really cool little trick... would have been much better if it had a CD slot behind though. I think they did these on the later model E46/E39 but not for the X5 as they have a different viewing angle. Unfortunate!

I hate this car now.....No bloody sound now on satnav, not such a bad thing as she does grate after a while...no sound on the phone or the soddin telly and still cant turn the frigin' stereo on....But on a good note I did get the speedo to say 140mph today :D Obviously not on a public highway ;)

You checked the BM54 or 24 in yours? Get that radio module out - try cleaning the connectors - long shot, I know...

If you have the 24 you have round pins, thin pins is the 54. 54 is harder to fix - some BS on eBay about a fix but PM me instead.

24 can be re-soldered. It's dry joints and accessibility on them - only if they're at fault though. But RCM is the source of audio... :(

Oh and did you try a battery disconnect/re-connect?

Yeah mate ta. Will whip out the rcm. Had it out in July when I fitted new digi tv tuner might have upset her then... ;)
