satnav died - where's the front fusebox?

Post by RoganJosh » Wed Jan 19, 2011 9:34 am

Ahoy all, I took a trip out to Europe after christmas and hadn't got 10 miles towards the first ferry before discovering that my sat nav wasn't working - lucky I had my tom tom as a backup. When we arrived at our destination I had a look at the fusebox in the rear - the fuse map suggested I check 2 fuses - I switched the easy one in the back - no change. There is another fuse in the front - but the manual is pretty vague about how to access the front fusebox - it's supposed to be under the front passengers glove box - there isn't any obvious boxes, can anybody give me a pointer?

If the fuse isn't the problem I'll need a new DVD unit - and my warranty excess is £100 - I don't want to give the Stealers any opportunity unless I have to.

It's a 2007 4.8ise.

Thanks.

It's in the glovebox behind a hinged panel. A lot easier to see with a decent torch.

Just to confirm, the red light in the boot never comes on when you open the boot up?

Never had to hoke around for my fuse box on my e53 - it was pretty much bullet proof, or so it seemed. I still don't understand how to get into the front fuse box on the e70 :headbang:

Seems like a lot of work to go to for checking a fuse?

Perhaps I'll just give the stealers my £100

RoganJosh. By sat nav not working, I presume you mean the disc will not eject also?

Hi there
What are thy symptoms of the problem ? Are you getting a message on the display asking you to insert the nav disk ? If so it's probable you will need a new DVD drive fitted to the ccc unit in the dash. The DVD drive is available separately from the complete ccc (car communication computer) in the dash and will not require programming to the car.
