Suspension arm

Following a failed MOT today i need to replace my front lower suspension arms. Parts seem to be reasonable but I don't know what to expect in terms of labour. The garage have said nearly 3 hours per side but I feel this is excessive. Any ideas on a 2009 35d for both lower arms to be swapped out.

I had them and top ones plus drop links changed in under 2 hours.
That was at my 8's garage so time included a lot of talking as well.

[/quote]Exactly new it was an elaborate quote. Had it in for a second opinion and they said suspension would be debatable getting an advisory. Going for another mot Monday at the new garage.

N/S bottom joint had gone on mine when i got it so i bought all the parts for the front and got them done.
I like to sort things out straight away when i notice them but that's how i am i don't wait for mot time then when that time comes my car's fly through(touch wood).

[/quote]Thanks Alan. My problem is one garage says they need doing and another doesnt. I don't want to pay for unnecessary work. What you have confirmed for me is that I have also been quoted 6 hours for a job that should take about 2. Doesn't say much for this garage. I defo will not be going back there.

Not all of mine needed doing but i intend to keep the car for some time.
I bought a kit sort of with all of them in it and i know i am good for a few years now.
While they are doing one joint/arm it isn't a lot more to do all on that side if you get what i am saying.

[/quote]Makes sense will be getting mine done later this year now I know more of what it entails. Learning a lot since I bought the x5 as it certainly is high maintenance with one thing and another
