Help! Over the last 6 months it’s seems like the Turbo on our e70 3.0d (57 reg) has started make more of a whooshing noise? It’s audible in the cabin at low revs and increase in pitch with revs? Any idea if this is the turbo giving up or could it be an air leak, had to a local garage who said it’s the turbo (without any real inspection) they want £700 to change it to a recon unit, but I’m the next breath he was offering to buy the car?? Any help appreciated, could it really be the turbo (not getting any smoke out the exhaust or lack in power?) if so is £700 reasonable to do the work?
