I posted back in June about the one instance of Total Shutdown of our E70 3.0d, well it reoccured about three weeks ago - engine died, wouldn't restart -lots of cranking, then when I got even more infuriated, I took the key out of the dash, pressed the lock then unlock buttons, and it restarted. Then come New Years Day !!, we went out in the car, got less than a mile from home, and it did it again, only this time it seemed very much worse- it refused to start, again lots of cranking, pressing lock then unlock on the key fob made it start then instantly die, I did this about half a dozen times before it (very roughly ) decided to run in limp mode , which at least got us back home with EML on.
Have scanned it briefly with scanner and it comes up with 3 glow plug errors ( which seems a. a tad unlikely. and b. difficult to tie in with the chronic running problems.
And can I state Exodus61, I'm NOT trying to jump on your bandwagon !!
