Various electronic problems

Post by Chuck Chaffey » Tue Apr 09, 2019 6:50 am

Hi Guy's,

Hoping to find some answers for the following problems:

1. Reverse camera not working but in it's place the navigation map comes up , the PDC is functioning.

2. Bluetooth does not seem to be working (My phone doesn't detect anything)

3. Voice control doesn't hear me, but I can hear the beep and it tell me it doesn't understand me.

4. The auxiliary port (3.5mm jack) in the armrest doesn't seem to work although its available in the entertainment hub.

I have replaced the media module in the trunk as it showed water damage, but that didn't seem to change anything.

Could it be another module that controls all or some of these features.

The radio and CD work as does Nav,

Thanks in advance
Chuck

I would start with a fault code scan as guessing can cost a lot.

Also if you had a water damage to the control unit it could corroded wires so they might need replacing too, but as Alan said, the best start is quick fault scan

Thanks for the quick replies guys, another thing I found today after studying the MOST system was that there is no red glow on the MOST connector which, from what I can see may be the amplifier at fault, but will do a scan and see what that comes up with.

Regards
Chuck

You will need a scan via a BMW specific diagnostics and not a generic scanner.
