Fumes in cabin

Post by approved » Mon Jan 04, 2021 1:36 pm

Afternoon.

Getting an ever so slight whiff shortly after start up and when stationary.

Having the recirculate set to A sets to sort it. Can’t see any oil leaks, nothing appears to be leaking/blowing.

Any pointers?

Exhaust manifold is a frequent culprit on the E53 so may be the same on the E70 too. BMW use pressed steel ones and they crack! Changing it to cast iron is the fix if that is the source.

Also worth checking rear door seals in case it’s coming in at the back end somewhere.
