Engine problem on E70

Post by mark09 » Tue Sep 13, 2011 8:05 pm

3k miles in on the new X5 no issues until today when all power went and message came up "engine only limited power available contact BMW dealer" made appointment for tomorrow but now the message has gone off and no message stores on the idrive system...strange!

Anyone come across this?

I still intend dropping by the garage to have it checked over.

hi,did you get to the bottom of the problem?
ive had a very similar problem with my 58 plate x5d 3.0twin turbo.
i had the messages up saying engine limited to half power, then to total power loss.its been in and out of bmw now for 3 weeks.they have recently put a brand new fuel pump on it to no avail.the car also takes alot longer to start sometimes 10 secs.anyway its now booked back in for new injectors i think?
if you got your problem sorted can you let me know what it was?luckily im getting parts on good will but have to pay for labour.
regards glenn :)
