LCD monitor repair recommendations?

Post by X5eireann » Wed Nov 16, 2011 10:52 am

Hi all,

I'm slowly but surely getting the ICE fixed up - thanks to Sanj on the weekend its all wired up correctly and he done a couple of really cool mods too!! The system is ready for action apart from one of my monitors which needs to be repaired, can anyone recommend a LCD repair specialist??

I have a 7inch TV monitor which is receiving power however its likely that the capacitors need to be replaced as the screen is getting power and is lighting up, however its going a dark/dim shade when powered on.

I'm pretty nifty with a soldering iron, however the parts are pinned into the motherboard and I don't have the right equipment to repair it.

I am no expert on these but would have thought that in abscence of d.i.y. then it may be cheaper to get another unit, (new or used),assuming you can find like for like.Might be worth a repair attempt if a high end item.

That's true but, I'd rather go with this option first as I don't need to replace the other screen and I'm a proper OCD git, so having two different screens would drive me insane!! :headbang:

Keeping a watchful eye for the past 3 weeks and no joy! The LCD's I have are VST which is now known as NESA, they're an American brand so I'm browsing through numerous US car audio websites. The other option is to get an LCD which is almost identical in size and modify the brackets/clips and plugs to fit.

Or buy two then sell the others either pair with one as spares/repair or individually.........just some thoughts.

Hi all,

After 2 weeks of browsing through the internet I managed to track down CKO international ltd based in Harrow who replaced the screen and it was delivered back to me within 24hs. £50 + Vat and delivered - not bad in my opinion.

Very professional business and certainly have great knowledge on ICE.
