Better get rready for the dreaded 'No engine start in xxx Km' then. Once the smaller of the 2 DEF tanks is at a level when there is less than 1000 Km worth left this message comes up on iDrive and sure enough the engine won't then start once that fluid is gone. Fortunately the fluid's not that expensive (and included in the 4 year maintenance deal on a new car). And guess what, the stuff in the BMW bottle is more expensive than the other stuff that probably comes from the same source!

A car actively refusing to start, whatever next ...

I can just see cases with faulty sensors coming along in the future.
