A New & Exciting Journey ahead

Post by Richard137 » Sun Mar 27, 2016 8:41 pm

Having been driving for many years I finally picked up my first ever BMW (2006 E53 3.0d Sport auto)
I have had it for just over 1 month and must say what a fantastic experience I am having, a beautiful drive that takes me from A to B via a pleasurable alphabet.
I will be treating the newest member of my family to a new set of Winter wheels & tyres over the coming months, and curious about Wrapping components under the bonnet......but then what? Any ideas please?Image

2006, higher tax bracket, ouch!! ( 55 plate would have been £275 ).

Can I ask why you are so keen to wrap under the bonnet? no one ever sees it.

Welcome along and pleased you are enjoying your X5.  Good luck with the any mods you go with...done well they can enhance the car but so easy to go too far and turn a fine looking car into a chav mobil.

I totally agree, I can 100% confirm the X5 will not be wearing anything that makes it look disrespctful.

My steering wheel trim needs sorting, I bought a new one genuine BMW off the net. But for the 3 series they are £100 might consider trying to revamp mine with 3m, is it easy to do ? Removing the trim and refitting is straight forward, but I was never any good at art or sticky back plastic as per Blue Peter.

The Steering wheel is my next 'big' attempt. Pillars were easy enough, slow, steady and with extra heat.

I think I may attempt to CF Wrap the Kidney grill surrounds, I also think I may need a kind soul that lives near Rochdale to volunteer to do my steering wheel as I am seriously uncomfortable playing near the Airbag. Lol
