New owner, as of today

Post by RichM50d » Wed Dec 20, 2017 8:31 am

Morning folks. I’m just about to pick up my new M50d today........

And it’s bloody raining! :))

Looking forward to enjoying the car, after putting off the inevitable for years.

Happy days, though that’s a shame it’s raining for you.  It would be nice to have it shiny and new looking at least for a few days!  I’ve got a few weeks to wait then will be joining the M50d club too.  :)

Enjoy getting to grips with the car and I hope the rain eases off for you.

I can’t upload pictures from my phone, for some reason. Will try later from my iPad.

Hi Rich

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new M50d they are a nice choice especially with theperformance it offers and still retains some economy.

Look forward to hearing more as considering swiping my E70 for one of these.

Ps also you wanted to post a pic it's the little image button under the typing box you click on it and then you can load a pick, then press upload and then Add to Post and it should appear.

Welcome to the M50d club - you will not be disappointed ;) ;)
Tell us more about the spec and colour and look forward to seeing the pictures.
Happy driving!

P.S. Boy racer tried to out perform me tonight in his M140i and I was no match even in Sport+. That is one quick car :'(

Here we go......

It’s Space Grey, Ivory white leather. Has pretty much every extra, bar the Adaptove LED headlights.

VERY NICE! you must be well pleased with her?
I have the same 21" alloys on Pirelli RFTs -  do you find the ride quite harsh?
I've just swapped over to 20" winter tyres for the next 3 months and the ride is a lot more comfortable and strangely getting better mpg  :o

Yep, I’m over the moon. Should have done it years ago.

I don’t find them that harsh. Saying that, I’m coming from a 2016 Touareg R Line Plus, with 21” wheels (a POS car, but that’s another story! :)))

Looks like a cracker. I would have loved that interior option but between getting dirty mountain biking and with the dog, it would look awful in no time!  :(

It’s got black carpets & boot area, so should be fine. I’m about to order a Travall dog guard & boot divider for the dog, and a Premier Products quilted boot liner, so all should be well.

Ah ok, that’s not so bad then. I too have ordered the travall products. They look pretty robust, though still sitting boxed in the garage. I also ordered their rubber boot Matt, but might take a look at this premier boot liner you mention.

Congrats again on the new beast and enjoy the ride.  What’s the consensus on break in periods by the way?

Mines an ex-demo, so has been run in for me. But I’ve had a lot of brand new cars over the years, and just drive them normally from day 1.
