Disable Alarm Sensors

Post by Dogzyboy » Sat Mar 31, 2018 2:18 pm

I can’t for the life of me get the interior sensors to disable when locking the car. I’ve tried a second click on the lock button, I’ve tried this pressing the buttons slowly, I’ve tried multiple clicks but I just can’t seem to get the sensors to disable so the dog doesn’t set the alarm off.  No matter what I do I don’t see the red indicator pause in red for 2 secs.

What on earth am I doing wrong!?!

I press the “lock” button twice and the light under the rear view mirror does a longer flash and then goes out.

Did you test it with a canine or human passenger?

Yeah I’m trying that but not getting that longer flash. I risked it yesterday with the dog in the car whilst on a ferry and he set the alarm off. I’ll need to try again before my return journey. :-(

I tried mine again last night, just to double-check it works and it does: twice pressing the lock button in quick succession leaves the light under the rearview mirror with a longer confirmation flash, and then goes off.

However, this thread seems to indicate a different method if the above fails, though haven't tried myself:

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showth ... p?t=727666

It means unlocking all 4 doors first (double unlock) and then do the double lock button press on the remote.

Have you set your unlock preference to be drivers only or all doors?

I tried the process in that thread too without success. I’ve got the settings to only unlock the driver’s door with the first click so a second click is required to unlock all doors.  Maybe I’ll try a click double click and then failing that, see if changing the unlock settings makes any difference.

Thanks for checking yours out though.
